Silver Bay Marina
The marina is owned by the DNR and operated by the city of Silver Bay. The adjacent Bayside Park is leased from Northshore Mining, operated by the city and offers picnic facilities with a lake view and its own cozy beach. The complex is located just off Highway 61 between East Beaver Bay and Silver Bay.

NEW! Check out our live marina web cam and view the slips, see current weather conditions, or simply check on your vessel. (Video streaming may take a few moments to load).

There are currently 104 slips with plans to expand. We have a mix of power boats, used mainly for fishing, and sailboats. Fishing is excellent just outside the marina for lake trout and salmon. The views from the lake of Split Rock Lighthouse, Shovel Point, Palisade Head and many other area cliffs and bays are unparalleled, and the marina causeway is a perfect place to watch the ”1000-Footers” come in to the Northshore Mining harbor.

There is access from the causeway for scuba divers to dive the shipwreck Hesper. The main building offers food, restrooms, and a comfortable place to relax. We have a fuel dock, a gleaming fish cleaning facility, launching ramp, gazebo, and abundant parking. It’s really the “Heart of the Heart” of the North Shore.

Kayaking
For kayakers, the Lake Superior Water Trail includes many dedicated areas to beach the boats and camp along the entire shore, including Silver Bay’s Bayside Park, Black Beach, and several others in the area.
